Trophy Canadian moose in northern Alberta

This hunt takes place in northern Alberta during two chief periods: the rut in later September and early October and a November hunt when ice and snow make it easier to traverse the terrain that is swampy in the fall.

The outfitter's backcountry camp is 32 kilometers from a road and is accessed by Argo all-terrain vehicles in the fall and by snowmobiles after freezeout in November. You also can fly in by bushplane for an extra $500 round trip.

The outfitter is offering this hunt for an excellent price to make sure he fills his tags in 2013.

Hunter success has been high, and moose killed by hunters in the backcountry camp have averaged about 53 inches in antler width.

Transportation between the airport in Edmonton and the jumpoff point is included in the price. Taxes (5%), hunting license and tag, taxidermy work and meat cutting and wrapping are not included in the price.

The new outfitter is one who came recommended to us by another booking agent, who said he had good luck sending him customers for bear and whitetail deer.
