Guided free-range hunts on 3,600 deeded acres
This hunt takes place on a private ranch in the Cimarron Mountains just east of Montrose, Colorado. Hunters often see 50 or more deer in a day. Hunters who hold out for trophy-size bucks have a good chance of taking an animal scoring 160 to 180 Boone and Crockett points.
The terrain is hilly and mostly brushy. More than half the ground is covered with oakbrush. Sagebrush covers 20-30% of the land, and the balance is forested by aspens and spruces. The hunt is conducted by the landowner, who bought the ranch about 12 years ago. He provides one guide per pair of hunters.
