Nevada Mule Deer Hunting

This outfitter has had 90% success and nearly 100% opportunity for the past ten years.

Last year he reported taking eight bucks for 10 hunters. "The two hunters who didn't fill their tags ended up missing," he said. "One of the missed bucks was a 32-inch non-typical with great mass. The best buck we actually killed was 29 inches wide and in the 180 class. We figured he was the sixth biggest buck we saw last year. One of the guides saw a couple of really big ones. With the mild winter we're having, we should have a great year.

He said he is licensed to outfiit statewide.

"My guides and I thoroughly scout during the summer to ensure that you have the best hunt possible. These are spot and stalk hunts, and we use quality optics. You can expect to see bucks every day.

"The terrain is beautiful but rugged. Being in good physical condition is a plus, but the outfitter can accommodate hunters who are not in great shape.

"We make home cooked meals the way you like them. For most hunts you will be staying in a heated wall tent or ranch house. Occasionally, we will stay in a motel.:

Nevada offers a special nonresident guide draw for mule deer hunters. This guide draw allows nonresident hunters who want to hunt with a Nevada outfitter a greatly increased chance of drawing a mule deer tag, much greater than through the regular draw procedure. The outfitter has been running 60% draw odds in the guide draw. Applications for permits in the guided hunter draw are due on March 12. The outfitter buys a few transferable landowner permits each year. Hunts take place at different times according to game management unit with dates from October into December.

Prices do not include state hunting license or tag fees.

  • One hunter per guide: $3,950
  • Two hunters per guide: $3,450 (per person)
