GREAT NEW PRODUCT

I'm impressed with a new product that I highly recommend to hunters. Called PhoneSkope, it's a way to attach your cell phone to your binoculars or spotting scope. I had the company make me a PhoneSkope that allows me to connect my Galaxy Note II to a unique spotting scope that I use, consisting of a Nikon Scope Adapter paired with a Nikkor 300mm F4 lens. Through it I can see and photograph or video tape bucks more than four miles from my house. It's unbelievable. To contact the company check out www.phoneskope.com.

Trophy hunt for desert bighorn sheep in Sonora
Our Mexican partners are offering two types of hunts: free-ranging and high-fenced desert preserve. Rams typically run from 155 to 170 on the free-ranging hunt and 170 to 200 on the high-fenced hunt. Call for an updated price quote, but expect to pay around $50,000. Watch for more details later.

Long-time customer and friend Ted Kurdziel of Michigan got this beautiful California bighorn sheep in Nevada in 2008. Ted said Denise was a real trooper on the hunt. His ram scored 162 B&C. Click on the photo to see a big image.

Utah bighorn sheep

When Lenna Thomas of Utah drew her bighorn sheep tag this year, her husband, Ryan, a good friend, asked me to suggest an outfitter. Fortunately, I've known for 20 years the outfitter who knows this unit better than anybody else, Tim Pilling. He located Lenna's ram just before the season opened and he and friend Matt Wise kept tabs on it until Lenna could start hunting. She hunted four days before she was able to get a good 200-yard shot at this once-in-a-lifetime trophy. She kept a journal of her hunt, which we'll post when she finishes typing it up. Congratulations, Lenna!
